Estate Disputes & Related Court Applications
I assist clients with estate-related disputes and court applications, which may include:
- Issues relating to the validity, interpretation, or effect of a will
- Disputes between beneficiaries and executors
- Issues relating to lifetime gifts, transfers, or joint ownership
- Issues involving the use or misuse of powers of attorney or representation agreements
- Disputes involving real property or other estate-related interests
My role is to provide legal guidance on rights, risks, and available options based on the
circumstances of the matter.
Committeeship & Adult Guardianship Matters
Where an adult has lost capacity and effective planning documents are not in place, court
involvement may be required. I assist clients with committeeship and adult guardianship
matters, which may include:
- Assistance with the court process for being appointed as committee
- Assistance with responding to or disputing competing requests for committee appointment
- Addressing issues of suitability, conflicts of interest, or potential risk to the adult
- Guidance on evidentiary and procedural requirements
I provide legal guidance throughout the process so that matters may be addressed in accordance with
applicable law.
